Teal blue and white were the colors used for Aviation. The propeller, an instrument of propulsion, symbolizes the Battalion's forward drive in its mission of support and reconnaissance. The nebuly is used in heraldry to refer to the atmosphere and clouds and, therefore, alludes to the aerial aspects of the unit.

The coat of arms was approved on 19 November 1964. It was rescinded on 23 December 1974.
